Professional Development

 

EISS Professional Development is built on current research and best teaching practices for developing and managing a stimulating, hands-on environment where daily experiences are guided by state and local standards.  EISS provides direction in creating an exciting and active classroom that engages children in differentiated learning experiences to meet their individual needs and improving student achievement. Children are encouraged to share responsibility for their learning while teachers guide the learning process through differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.

Preschool GLAD Teacher Training Part I
             1-Day Training………. $150.00 per person

 

This training introduces the research/theory and strategies of the Preschool GLAD curriculum model. Participants will receive the Preschool GLAD handbook, which includes the research and theory supporting Preschool GLAD, information on each of the developmentally appropriate strategies, and alignment with Desired Results Developmental Profile - Revised, and a sample Preschool GLAD Thematic Unit.

Preschool GLAD Teacher Training Part II*

                  *FULL PARTICIPATION in Part One training is a prerequisite to
                    registration & participation in Part Two training.      

          4-Day In-Classroom Observation……….$500.00 per person

 

Each day of demonstration highlights the use of different Preschool GLAD strategies.  In the afternoon sessions of each day, participants learn more about the research behind the strategies and create a unit of their own.  Preschool GLAD trainers facilitate the process of teacher collaboration around Preschool GLAD strategies and work with participants in building a unit.
