“I just wanted to share my thankfulness and a success story for the EISS program at Castle Rock over these past two years. Though I stepped into the school in the second year of the EISS program, I have seen the benefits. I wanted to share our STAR 2nd grade test scores with you. Our second graders went from 66% proficient in 2007 in Language Arts to 85% this year. In math they went from 69% proficient in 2007 to 85% this year. Their growth was huge! I attribute a large part of this growth to the extra time, personnel and materials the grant enabled us to put into place. The third grade teachers are so excited to have so many kids reaching grade level.
